EMFields - About Us

A growing number of people in the general population are experiencing negative health effects, in some cases very severe, from electromagnetic fields (EMFs) in their local environment: at work, at school and in the home. EMFs may come from electrical appliances (including cookers and other kitchen appliances), electrical wiring in buildings, and even mobile phones and their masts (though the radiation from these is very different).

As a result of experience in the electronics industry, we are able to offer a range of professional measuring equipment, mainly designed by us, to make it easy for you to survey your environment, and to monitor the effects of the screening measures you take. The full list is available from here.

We offer a number of screening products, designed to reduce your personal exposure to electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones and masts, and high electric field levels from house wiring. We have tested all the products we sell and these are highly effective, removing up to 99% of all incoming radiation. Our full range of screening products are available from here.

Finally, we stock a number of publications written by consumer interest group Powerwatch that give good, practical advice on things to take into consideration when moving house, what to do about high EMFs in your home, and detailed instructions about the things to make sure of when attempting to screen against these fields. The range includes a book on the relatively new, largely unrecognised, problem of Electrical Hypersensitivity (EHS). Our range of publications are available from here.

As part of our ethical policy, EMFields donates a fixed percentage of our profits to charities chosen by staff members. We have donated the following so far:
2005 - £130.66 to Christian Aid, £166.78 to Tree Aid
2006 - £250 to ISIS (the Institute of Science in Society)
2007 - £130.00 to Oxfam, £250.00 to Tommy's (the baby charity), £250.00 to Care for the Family
