News from the French ES village

9th September 2010

A quick update to yesterdays story about the French ES village. The appeal was not upheld, and the villagers were asked to leave. Their deadline was the 3rd September, and we have no news as yet of what happened then.

The General Council of the Drome (the land owner) had accused them of illegal occupation of a protected natural site. It is however, one of the only places locally that is not affected by the local electromagnetic fields. The judge upheld the decision that the inhabitants were there illegally, and they were told to leave. There was no fine, or other penalty imposed.
