New study links brain tumours with EMF exposure from powerlines11th February 2011A new study from France by Isabelle Baldi and her colleagues have linked living near powerlines with an increased risk of developing meningioma, the second most common type of brain tumour. They also looked at people who were exposed to electromagnetic fields at work and found that they had an increased risk of not only meningiomas, but also gliomas and neurinomas. The authors concluded that "occupational or residential exposure to ELF may play a role in the occurrence of meningioma."
