Silver Bobbinet Our screening material is silver-plated (non-allergenic) bobbinet material, woven for durability, which stops over 99% of incoming microwave radiation energy (see graphs) - a range that encompasses all three mobile phone bands (including TETRA and 3G). It also protects against the new WiFi frequencies used in wireless computing networks, although the graph has not yet been updated to show the exact levels. It is light grey in colour, very lightweight and easy to fix. It is 1.80 metres (slightly less than 6 feet) wide and is sold by the metre. You can order any amount you like above 1 metre (e.g. 3.6 metres), but 1 metre is the minimum order length. You need to attach the material to the wall-edge of the windowframe to ensure microwaves do not enter the room through the frame, although aluminium frames will screen the radiation. Tests done in a QinetiQ stirred RF test room, show that the material offers (typical) 32dBV attenuation at 800 MHz (a 97.5% signal reduction and a 99.9% power reduction) and 24 dBV at 2000 MHz (a 94% signal reduction and a 99.6% power reduction). For further information about the material, see the Swiss Tulle website. |

Cotton Electrocloth The electrocloth material is made of cotton and stainless steel. It stops over 99% of incoming microwave radiation energy (see graphs) - a range that encompasses all three mobile phone bands (including TETRA and 3G). It is stone/light beige in colour, and easy to sew. It is 1.44 metres wide and is sold by the metre. You can order any amount you like above 1 metre (e.g. 3.6 metres), but 1 metre is the minimum order length. The material is suitable for curtain linings, roller blind linings, and can be used to make bedlinen or clothing. |

Headnets These can be worn straight over your head, or over a hat (as shown here) to protect your head from excess microwave exposure. Many people find that wearing the headnet at night improves their quality of sleep dramatically, reducing the number of times they wake during the night. Do not use shampoos or other hair products containing lauryl sulphate during the time you are using the headnet. The sulphur residues in your hair reduce the screening properties of the headnet and will discolour it. |

ADSL Filter/Ferrite Some people who are sensitive to EMFs find they react to ordinary wired telephones. One of the reasons this may be, is that there can be broadband radiofrequency "noise" coming through the wire from the telephone socket. This noise is almost universal in the UK now, even if you personally do not have a broadband internet connection. This double filter reduces the electromagnetic noise dramatically, as can be seen in the graph on the "Read More!" page. |

Foil Tape A roll of aluminium foil tape 45 metres x 50mm. This can be used to secure lengths of foil where required, to provide good conductivity between sheets of plasterboard, or to cover curtain battens or skirting boards that cannot be removed, or for surfaces such as kitchen work surfaces, which can need frequent cleaning. |

Earthing Leads All internal surfaces covered with the screening paint should be earthed. This is to prevent the paint picking up and re-radiating electric fields from the house wiring. These can make some people feel quite ill with symptoms of electrical hypersensitivity. The earthing leads we supply consist of a square of copper foil with a conductive glue backing. A 2 metre length of thin wire is soldered and glued onto the copper foil. The other end is stripped of its plastic covering. We also supply a 5 cm square of aluminium foil tape to cover the copper foil when it is in place. This reduces the likelihood of its being pulled away from the wall. |
|
Earthing Wire If you want to make your own earthing lead, but are unsure where to obtain the wire (or unable to get there) we can supply this at 29 pence per metre. |

Laptop Earthing Leads There have been recent postings on internet bulletin boards about high voltages being measured on some laptop computers when connected to their mains power supplies (PSUs). They are what is called "double insulated" and do not require an safety earth connection. Unfortunately this also means that the low-voltage supply to the laptop then "floats" to typically half the mains supply voltage (i.e. about 115 volts AC in the UK). There is not enough current to electrocute you, but it does expose you to high levels of electric fields of several hundreds of volts per metre at your hands (and lap). So, if you are buying a new laptop, we suggest that you choose one with a 3-pin mains connector on the PSU. If it does not have a 3-pin mains connector, we suggest you use a safety Earthing Lead when you use your laptop with its mains PSU. We supply these either WITH a plug (£7.00) or without a plug (£4.99). Plugs supplied are standard UK 3 pin plugs, so if you are ordering from outside the UK, we suggest you buy them without plugs, and fit your own.

USB Extension Cable If your laptop is one of the new variety of laptops that does NOT have any metal connections at the back, you will need one of these in addition to an earthing lead. It is a Belkin USB extension cable. This particular USB cable is FULLY screened - many USB cables are only partially screened along the length. This screening is necessary in order to be able to earth the laptop! The nice thing about using this for your earthing purposes is that it can also be used as a normal USB extension cable. |
|
Ferrites These clip on to the wires of pendant lights where there is incoming microwave radiation through the lighting circuit (detectable with the Electrosmog Detector). One size fits all. If the diameter of the lighting cable is thin then the hole in the ferrite can be made smaller with cling film. The ferrite can be painted to match the colour of the room. |
|
Electricity Demand Switches A demand switch inserted into selected house circuits will reduce electric and magnetic fields. This is especially useful while you sleep when low levels of EMFs are necessary for an optimal immune system. People with EHS will find demand switches helpful in regulating their electricity supply to reduce EMFs at all times practicable. |

Yshield Carbon Screening Paint One coat of this specialist paint stops over 99.9% of incoming radiation across all mobile phone frequencies, TETRA, 3G, WiFi and WiMax. The paint is easy to apply, is water soluble and can be used inside the house, on walls, ceilings and floors. One coat covers about 7 square metres per litre. If you intend to wallpaper over the paint, you must apply a coat of emulsion paint to seal the carbon paint before applying wallpaper paste. All painted surfaces should be earthed. Paint used externally (outside)Quite stringent legal requirements apply in certain countries with respect to earthing the paint. There is no such requirement in the UK. If you are painting only a part of the outside wall, you may not need to earth it at all. If you are painting the whole wall, we recommend using the special earthing kit which will also comply with European requirements. Paint used internally (inside your house)Internal painted walls should be earthed. The paint is conductive and can pick up and re-radiate electric fields from house wiring. This raised level of electric field exposure can make people feel as ill as microwaves can. Please see our earthing instructions page for more detail. We are not able to deliver paint orders to the Isle of Man or Guernsey due to the difficulties of getting couriers to accept paint shipments. We can ship to another address on the mainland if set up as the delivery address.
